About
Hi, I'm so happy you’re here! I’m Juliana, the maker behind Carpenter’s Daughter. All of my products are handmade in my father’s workshop at my family’s home on Perth Road, Ontario.
The name Carpenters daughter is to honour my dad who was my biggest supporter and a frequent recipient of my childhood creations. I am inspired by his patience, care, and integrity, qualities he brought both to his work as a heritage carpenter and to his everyday life. Just as my father worked to preserve traditional craftsmanship in carpentry, I hope to carry on the skills and crafts that women have passed down for generations.
It was my dad who first taught me to thread a sewing machine. The one I use now belonged to my grandmother and many of my tools from other women in my family, and I think of them each time I create something.
I hope you find as much joy in these pieces as I do in making them. Please reach out for any inquires, or to chat about custom orders, I’d love to hear from you!
